e+a motor elements are airborne

For the all-electric aircraft e-Sling, which was developed and built as part of a student project at ETH Zurich, e+a acted as sponsor for the electromagnetic and mechanical design as well as the production of the motor elements for the aircraft propulsion system.

With a take-off power of 110 kW at 2300 min-1, the power-to-weight ratio of the air-cooled motor is 5 kW/kg.

Motors for Cryogenic Applications

Expertise:

  • Operation of e+a rotors & stators immersed in liquid natural gas (LNG, -160 ° C) and liquid nitrogen (LN, -196 ° C)

Small size motors – new series!

e+a has developed five new series for permanent magnet synchronous machines with external diameters of 13 mm to 24 mm.

Thanks to their compact construction, they can also be successfully used in medical applications.
